Valle di Lima
La strada accanto alla gola del fiume Serchio e il torrente Lima è la strada toscana conosciuta come la spettacolare strada “dal mare al cielo”. Calde brezze provenienti da ovest dall'oceano trasportano fino alla valle chi danno Popiglio il clima particolarmente mite per i quali è reputato. Le correnti d'aria portano i semi delle piante di mare, che crescono nei boschi circostanti. Chi guida un'ora dal porto di Pisa fino gli impianti di risalita di Abetone, vede viste sul Mediterraneo che si trasformano in viste alpini. Ad ovest può camminare fino al passo che Annibale attraversò. A traverso l’Abetone giù in Emila Romagna il itinerario storico raggiunge Modena, la 'cintura di Shakespeare' di Verona, Mantova, Padova, e, infine, Innsbruck e Monaco di Baviera.

Lima Valley
The road beside the gorge of the river Serchio and the Lima torrent is Tuscany´s spectacular sea-to-sky highway. Warm westerly breezes coming in from the ocean carry up the valley to give Popiglio the specially mild climate for which it is reputed. The air currents bring the seeds of seaside plants, which grow in the surrounding forests. An hour´s drive from the port of Pisa to the ski-lifts of Abetone sees mediterranean views transform into alpine. To the west one can walk up the pass which Hannibal crossed. Over Abetone down into Emila Romagna this historic route reaches Modena, the ´Shakespeare belt´ of Verona, Mantua, Padova, and eventually Innsbruck and Munich.
